Product Description
RAID- (Redundant Array of Inexpensive\Independent Disks)
RAID 0 – “Striping” Data is written across multiple disk. Improves performance, with no fault tolerance
RAID 1 – “Mirroring” Data is written to a disk or volume and then copied to another disk or volume. Slows down performance slightly with fault tolerance. ( up to one drive failure)
RAID 5 – “Striping with Parity” Data is written to 3 or more disk with Parity. Improves performance over RAID 1 with fault tolerance. (up to one drive failure)
RAID 6 – “Striping with Parity” Data is written to 4 or more disk with additional Parity. Improves performance over RAID 1 with fault tolerance. (up to two drives failures)
RAID 10 – “Mirror + Striping” Data is Mirrored over 2 or more disk and then striped to 2 or more disk. Great performance with fault tolerance.
